Michel is a longtime Arlington, VA resident, originally from Vermont. A former Naval officer and Fortune 500 IT sales executive, his passion for photography began with a Kodak Instamatic, capturing family moments that became treasured memories.

Over the years, Michel continued photographing life — from his Navy service and world travels to local events for friends and nonprofit organizations. He’s always been drawn to capturing authentic expressions and meaningful moments that show people at their best.

During his sales career with industry leaders like Oracle, Microsoft, and Avaya, Michel saw firsthand the importance of projecting a confident, professional image — both in person and online.

Today, as the founder of PhotosByMichel, he’s dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable headshots for professionals at every career stage. Each session is thoughtfully tailored to highlight the client’s personality and presence — using professional-grade Nikon cameras and Elinchrom lighting to ensure clean, well-lit results.

Headshot sessions are efficient and relaxed, typically lasting 45–60 minutes. Clients select their favorite image on-site, with retouched files usually delivered within one business day.
